Floyd County CASA utilizes 26 volunteers and 3 staff that serve over 68 children. As of January 2017, there were 370 children in foster care in Floyd County alone. In keeping with the National CASA Association's plan for progress, we must recruit, train, and have many more volunteers available to ensure that each foster child has an advocate to speak for them.
CASA volunteers are everyday people of all ages and backgrounds who are willing to be the voice of an abused or neglected child involved in Juvenile Court proceedings. The goal of the CASA volunteer is to find every child a safe, permanent, loving home as soon as possible because... Every Child's Voice Deserves To Be Heard
The next volunteer training series will begin Thursday 4/6/2017 at 5:30 PM. The sessions meet weekly at that time until 5/25/2017.
